ALL-GAS & The Saint Francis Hospital NICU

As a family and a family-owned business, ALL-GAS is especially linked to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Francis Hospital. On a personal level, our owner’s daughter had two premature babies in the NICU. We are intimately aware of the many difficulties families face in the NICU and the resources needed to perform miracles. On a professional level, ALL-GAS has been supplying Saint Francis Hospital with life-saving medical gases for 75 years.

ALL-GAS began sponsoring the Sprint for Saint Francis NICU team in the Hartford Marathon in 2018. To date, they have raised close to $100,000 and have helped the hospital gain access to life-saving equipment that they otherwise would not have been able to afford. Some equipment they have purchased includes a cooling system that is administered to newborns. This treatment can prevent or significantly reduce the severity of a neurologic injury. In the past, vulnerable newborns who required a cooling system had to be transferred to other hospitals, sometimes as far away as Boston.  The NICU has also been able to purchase Billimeters, which are non-invasive devices to test for jaundice rather than having to prick the baby’s heel for a blood test.

In 2022, ALL-GAS purchased a new propane delivery truck to be the dedicated Saint Francis NICU truck. For every gallon of propane delivered by our purple propane truck, we donate 1 penny to the NICU. With this truck in service every day, delivering propane to residents throughout Connecticut, those pennies do add up! In 2021, ALL-GAS donated $5000 to the NICU from a similar propane truck.

We would like to create an even bigger impact by encouraging our customers and vendors to donate directly.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help NICU babies for years to come.
